GE 2007 Dividend Increase

I have noticed some recent interest in GE's future dividend rate. After all, GE announced its last dividend increase on 11/18/2005 and has been increasing its dividend annually for over 30yrs.

I expect nothing different this year. Looking at the historical calendar it looks like GE should announce the 2007 dividend increase sometime between 12/8 and 12/15.

If I had to guess based on past dividend increase, the quarterly dividend should be increased from $0.25/share to $0.28/share. That would bring the yield from 2.78% to 3.11% based on the recent ($35.99) share price.

Based on this estimate, my investment in GE should have a dividend yield of 3.41%.

Update:12/12 GE raised its quarerly dividend to $0.28/share.
