2007 Net Worth Review
I wanted to take a quick look at my net worth over the course of 2007 before I do a detailed analysis of how my net worth performed.
Let me start with a chart of my monthly net worth for 2007. I started the year with a net worth of $317,905 and ended the year with a net worth of $455,501.
Here is another chart that tracks the total change per month in my net worth for 2007:
Not much new revealed in these charts. It was a bumpy year with major changes including getting married and starting an international assignment. The major outlier in October was from merging my wife's finances into our net worth.
You can compare these charts to my 2006 net worth review and my 2005 net worth review.

I've been wondering this. Didn't you and your wife merge finances in November? If so, did she have a negative net worth? Just curious. You've made it clear she needs to be educated on the importance of personal finances, but you have a decent net worth, she had nothing.
How often do the two of you discuss finances?

you might want to practice saying 'our' instead of 'my'! ;-) maybe say "my/our" in this case because the charts had only your net worth until october or so.

Jon,
Things are a little misrepresented -- we merged our finances in October -- hence the bump. My wife did have a positive net worth which was added in the Oct net worth change.
I don't think my wife needs to be educated on personal finances -- she held her own before we were married. We just think differently about finances and the education is more for both of us to get to a common point to move forward.
sb -- yes your right. Still adjusting to married life ;-).
