My Wife and I Booked Our First Cruise

After many months of brief discussions and a recent realization I'm really burnt out at work and need a vacation, my wife and I finally decided to book a short cruise this week. We paid (after taxes, fees, port charges, etc) $330.50 for a 5 night cruise on Carnival per person.

It will be our first cruise and went for the cheapest one we could find as we figure we can always work our way up the cruise ladder over time. We opted for one that was within driving distance (departure port is about ~6hrs away from our home) so we could could avoid flight costs.

In-laws will be taking care of baby 2million so we can't wait!

Hope you have a great time--we've taken several Carnival cruises, and while they're not known for the frills and amenities, they are fun. Stay away from the pictures and alcohol they sell on the boat...that's where they make their real money. Carnival also offers a decent discount to returning customers.

hope you enjoy it. I've never been on one. someday perhaps. My brothers been on two... they feed you all day long, morning, mid-day, noon, night. Food all over the ship, 24/7

I have been on both Royal Carribean and Carnival and there is no doubt that Carnival is the better cruise. It is just more fun. Besides, Royal Carribean has a no dump policy, making all of their ships smell like a horrible mess!
