Extended Trip: A Transatlantic Cruise

We've booked a 14 day transatlantic cruise from Spain to Panama. We stumbled across what we believe is a great deal (<$500/pp for a 14 night cruise after taxes and fees) and went ahead and booked it without too much thought for my wife and I. We just decided it was too good of a deal to overthink it.

This cruise will fit perfectly in our plans to do an extended international trip. Not exactly what I was initially thinking with spending a couple weeks exploring a particular city or country, but it certainly has appeal with no telephone or internet access for basically 2 weeks on an international trip. That sounds like paradise to me these days :-). I definitely think it will be a nice jolt to the system and give me a chance to invest some energy in further relationship building with my wife and I hope give me some time to focus on some personal projects (this website, writing, etc) while at sea.

We still have much planning to do for both the pre cruise and post cruise portion of the trip, but a big piece is now in place.

Enjoy the cruise!

So many people forget to take time to rest and relax. Kudos to you!

2million, so, Spain to Panama. Are you flying straight to Spain and then boarding the cruise or do you plan on spending a some time in Spain prior to cruise? Same question for Panama.

I am curious the amount of time you will be taking off from work and what your "total vacation" will run you with the airfare to and from the US to these countries including hotels and such.

Me too - I'll post more once we've figured out some more details.
